| The
National Society on Alcohol and Drug Dependence, working alongside
AA, was initially established in
response to a growing need for drug and alcohol counselling,
education, treatment and rehabilitation.
By
the mid-1990s, NSAD had transformed itself from a funded provider
to a contracted provider and to a successful business operation
focusing on drug and alcohol counselling, education and rehabilitation.
This led, in the late 1900s to NSAD establishing an operating
company.
This
is now known as Care NZ,
which is responsible for the day to day commercial operations,
drug and alcohol education, treatment, counselling and prevention.
A
full outline of our history, including information regarding
the recently published “Duty of Care” can be found on our
history page.
